Simplifying a school district brand

The challenge

Estipona Group went back to the drawing board with Carson City School District to develop a new brand identity that set the northern Nevada school district apart. Among our challenges was creating a distinct brand in a state with another "CCSD." A school district brand needs to speak to multiple distinct audiences, including children and their families, the media, community members and potential employees from other regions and states. Our goal was to create a brand that was friendly and approachable, even familiar, yet authoritative and modern as well. As the sole school district of the capital city, we chose to lean into that differentiation, referencing the capitol building in the logo, as well as recognizable geographic landmarks. Supporting materials included brand guidelines, letterhead and business cards.
