Culture Day

A branded takeover of the legislative building

The Challenge

Despite doing vital, transformative work across the state, two powerhouse divisions under the Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs (NDTCA) struggled with brand and mission awareness. The Nevada Division of Museums and History (DMH) and the Nevada Arts Council (NAC) lacked visibility even among Nevada’s own elected officials, which is problematic when those very officials decide how funding is allocated.

Enter the 2025 legislative session: our golden opportunity to fill that knowledge void.

What We Did

We helped NDTCA take over the legislative building for “Culture Day,” and not in a polite-table-in-the-corner way. We’re talking full-scale, immersive branding takeover. Everywhere legislators, lobbyists and staff turned, there we were—DMH and NAC branding, facts and messaging in the expected and unexpected places. Wrapped elevator doors, giant stairwell clings, read-while-you-go bathroom banners and branded coffee cups all carried clear, distinct messages about each division’s impact.

Our strategy employed a simple question to spark engagement: Did you know? We knew the answer would almost certainly be “no,” but that “no” was our opening. No preconceived notions or assumptions—just a fresh chance to educate, inspire and surprise.
